To follow up on the information that the NFRC sent you directly, this email is to remind NFRC program participants that use of the Swinging Door Temporary Matrix Label will end on January 1, 2026.
These changes were made to remove the Swinging Door Temporary Matrix label to ensure the continued use of the General NFRC Temporary label per Figure A-1 for all applicable products, including swinging door assemblies. Certain sections of NFRC 700 were revised, specific to the language allowing the use of a temporary matrix label for swinging door assemblies.

The phase-in period for the labeling change provides a structured timeline for participants in the NFRC PCP to transition to the new labeling requirements.
The phase-in period is designed to ensure a smooth transition to the new labeling standards while giving current participants time to adjust their processes accordingly. All participants must be aware of these changes and please plan your operations to comply with the new requirements by the specified deadlines.
For additional guidance and updates, NFRC participants are encouraged to refer to the revised NFRC 700 document (found on the NFRC Program Documents page) and reach out to NFRC Staff with any questions or concerns.
Note: These changes only affect the swinging door matrix label and do not affect other temporary matrix labels currently approved by this program.
Please contact NFRC's Scott R. Hanlon, Director, Residential Programs, with any questions.
